I live in Northern Spain, and in the countryside it’s very much used, as well as “¿Que?”, which is a shortening of “¿Qué pasa?” (“what’s up”). It’s by no means a formal greeting, but I wouldn’t call it slang. Here in Puerto Rico we frequently say “Buenas” (“Greetings”) when answering phones and greeting people.

Also, Instagram is forcing every video posted to be a reel, unless of-course it’s a multiple media post – which in turn people often feel forced to post, instead of a one picture/video post, as to avoid the post being a reel. This can be annoying in itself as Instagram doesn’t show the amount of views on a multi image/video post, only the amount of likes. Instagram, please stop trying to copy tik tok and listen to what your users actually want. I am from México and we use both but “El día de los muertos” sounds too poetic to me, and “El día de muertos” is the normal way. I am making a display of pencil boxes for this holiday, and want to be correct in my verbiage.
